As part of the project, historians are commissioned to address unresolved research questions. These include the deportation of Baden’s Jewish population to Gurs and its connection to the de facto annexation of Alsace and the expulsion of the Jewish population of Alsace, as well as the history of groups whose fates are closely linked to the railway line.
The Blue House Breisach is the sponsor of the ECC-funded project “Brücke für die Zufunft/Pont pour l’avenir”. The Blue House Breisach is the town’s former Jewish community center. Since 2003, it has been a memorial and educational center for the history of the Jews on the Upper Rhine.
